TNI’s Chemistry Expert Committee released Revision 3.0 of Volume 1 Module 4 as a draft standard, restating initial calibration requirements such as the minimum number of standards per model and relative-error-based acceptance. It is not yet adopted by NELAP accreditation bodies.

What it means for calibration

The draft spells out minimum standards per model (4 for average response, 5 for linear, 6 for quadratic) and judges initial calibration acceptance by relative error rather than the correlation coefficient alone. Labs can align their SOPs now, ahead of adoption.
