The Oregon Health Authority filed proposed amendments to OAR 333-007 (cannabis testing standards) and OAR 333-064 (laboratory requirements and ORELAP accreditation) on September 30, 2026. The package allows a documented reanalysis when a potency result misses a declared target by more than 10 percent, adds quality control limits for initial and continuing calibration verification to Exhibits C and D, sets LOQ requirements for THC and THCA individually, requires characterized laboratory control samples for potency, and sets a 1 mm particle size for homogenization effective March 1, 2027. The comment period closed October 21, 2026.

What it means for calibration

ICV and CCV acceptance limits move from the lab’s own SOP into the rule, so an auditor will read every calibration verification against a published number rather than the lab’s interpretation. A separate LOQ for THC and THCA means each analyte has to demonstrate accuracy at its own lowest standard, not share one. Labs that document the model, the weighting and the low-end recovery for every calibration will have the record the new text asks for.
